Getting Started

We will work with you to achieve the design you want. On each completed design, we will burn up to 10 screens (each screen represents a color) total for the front and back. You can print on light or dark shirts. Our minimum is 48 shirts.

Please familiarize yourself with and approve our pricing before you place your order.

Step 1: Complete Online Order Form

The information you provide is collected only to help us communicate with you about your design. We will not give away or sell your information.

While our artists are immensely talented, they haven't figured out the whole mind-reading thing, so we rely on you to supply us with all of the information we need to get started on your unit's design. Please be as clear and succinct as you can.

We require the following information from you:

Name and Rank
We just need to know how to address you once we complete your design.

Your Unit Name
This is usually a critical element to the design of custom UNIT shirts

Phone and e-mail address
If you have no phone number available, please list the number of someone we can contact who knows how to reach you (preferred), or simply put "None" in that space.

The goal of collecting this information is simply to establish 2-way communications to help us deliver to you a completed design and highly motivating shirts.

Contact Instructions
Please tell us how you would like to be contacted here. Phone, e-mail, or pony express, as well as any alternate e-mail addresses you would like us to use.

Design Instructions
This is where you tell us what you want on the front and back of the shirt. If you or your unit has something specific in mind, please remember to be as specific as you need to be in your instructions. If we need to guess, we may guess wrong, and that will probably cause delays in design completion and shirt delivery. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT REQUESTS BASED ON SEXUALLY OR RACIALLY OFFENSIVE CONTENT.

Of course, we recognize that Marines are warriors, and we have no problem depicting that admirable quality in our designs. Our rule of thumb isn't that your grandmother would have to approve of it. Just the Commandant.

Reorder?
If your unit has ordered from us before and you want the same design, the process is considerably quicker if we can just look up your old information rather than try to reinvent the wheel. Please let us know if this is the case with you.

48 Shirt Minimum?
Sadly, due to limitations inherent in the screen printing process, we cannot make exceptions. You will not be able to proceed unless this is selected "Yes."

Date Needed
We try to have shirts shipped within three weeks of receiving your order, but this timeframe is affected by how quickly we can get approvals. Shipping to APO and FPO addresses typically takes 10 days (normally) to 3 weeks (occasionally). Once it is in the APO or FPO system, it is out of our control and out of our ability to track.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so if you wish, you can also attach a scan of a pencil sketch or idea you would like us to emulate in the design if you think it will help us make your design closer to how you envision it.

Step 2: OO-RAH Reviews Request

In addition to making sure we have all the information we need to get started, it's important to stipulate that there are certain types of designs we consider to be in poor taste we won't do. If you request one of those types of designs, we will let you know so that your time and money aren't wasted.

Step 3: Make a $150 Deposit

This deposit must be paid before our artists can begin refining your design. While the deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable, the amount you pay will be applied to your final order.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?
This is a new addition to our process. It was implemented in order to weed out those who are not serious about ordering unit shirts, which unfortunately became a considerable problem that had to be solved.

Fortunately for you, this frees up a lot of our time to dedicate to your unit's design. In short, because collecting a deposit keeps us from wasting resources, it

  1. Allows us to serve more units
  2. Allows us to finish your design quicker

Step 4: Collaborate with OO-RAH Artists to Complete Artwork

Once your approved sketch is inked, colored, and otherwise refined, you will receive an electronic image file of the final design as well as a link and instructions on how to place your order.

You will be given a chance to make changes with the understanding that big changes (and even some "small" ones) may delay production and delivery of your shirts.

We do not expect final payment until you are completely happy with your design and are ready to have them printed and shipped.

OO-RAH.com retains all rights to future use of the artwork, whether or not the design goes to press.

Step 5: Complete Payment

Once you pass the final design around and get the approval of the necessary people, make your payment
  1. Online through our secure store
  2. Over the phone
  3. By check or money order.

We will put your design in the production schedule as soon as your payment is processed, not as soon as it is sent. Obviously, this means that online ordering is the quickest method to have your shirts produced and sent. Don't forget to tell us what sizes, types, and colors of shirts you want to order, either in the comments section of the shopping cart or in a separate e-mail.

Step 6: Print and Ship Shirts

We will ship the exact quantity of shirts you order within ten days of receiving payment. Delivery times vary. Shipping normally takes a few days for addresses inside the continental U.S., and ten days to three weeks for delivery to APO and FPO addresses, including American Embassies.

Can people order shirts individually once we place a minimum order?
Unfortunately, no. It's impossible to predict future demand on custom shirts. Some will sell well, and others won't, which means that we'd end up with a lot of shirts that just wouldn't sell. To make up that wasted expense, we'd have to charge Marines extra for the custom shirts they order, which is something we're opposed to on principle.

People who work so honorably for us shouldn't be made to shell out their hard-earned money for what amounts to our wasted effort. We're here primarily to serve them. They deserve no less.
